NORTHEAST PHILADELPHIA, Pennsylvania (WPVI) -- While our local healthcare professionals are putting their lifesaving work in place, there's a group of individuals ensuring their needs aren't forgotten either.

At various Jefferson hospitals, they have a "Nurse Well-Being" program, with therapy designed to care for the caregivers.

"Our Nurse Well-Being program started here at Jefferson in the North region. It covers six of our Jefferson hospitals and it's all grant funded, which is really a beautiful thing. We integrate therapy adjuncts like pet therapy, art therapy, music therapy into a lot of our programming," said Kristen Gilmore, Nurse Well-Being Manager.

"I've had the opportunity to change my experience from taking care of patients to now taking care of staff members. And it is such a reward to come into this hospital every day and connect with our nursing colleagues to support them, to really talk about what's going on in their day to day," she continued.
