PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- A statue honoring a legendary Philadelphia boxer is now on the move to its new home.

A construction team worked carefully to lift the Joe Frazier statue from its pedestal in front of Stateside Live! in South Philadelphia on Tuesday.

The 12-foot-tall tribute to Smokin' Joe is now on its way to the Philadelphia Museum of Art.

It will be installed at the base of the iconic steps where a Rocky statue once stood, giving this real-life icon a chance to shine in one of the city's most visited areas.

"I want young people and everybody to know that things take time, it takes time to be a champion boxer, it takes time to be educated. Life is not necessarily instant, but we're going to do things together," said Frazier's daughter, Jacqui Frazier-Lyde.

The official unveiling of the Joe Frazier statue in its new home will take place on June 29.
