Who killed Najeebat Sule? Search continues for killer 5 years later

PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- It has been more than five years since a young woman with a bright future was tragically shot and killed.

Now, the search for her killer continues.

"On Friday, March 12th around 5:55 p.m. 8th District police responded to radio call for shooting outside that location on 8800 Frankford Ave," syas Santo Montecalvo of the Citizens Crime Commission.

When police arrived to that location back in 2021, they found 24-year-old Najeebat Sule - who was affectionately known as Najee - slumped over the front passenger seat of a car in the driveway of her family's home.

She had been shot several times.

"She was transported by medics to Torresdale hospital, but at 6:27 p.m. she was pronounced dead," says Montecalvo.

Najee already had many accomplishments under her belt.

She had a masters degree, and was working towards a PhD at the time of the shooting.

She also represented her country as Miss Nigeria in 2019.

"Recovered on the scene were 12 .40 caliber Federal Smith and Wesson cartridges. Multiple shots fired," says Montecalvo.

Police don't know if she was the intended target, or an innocent victim.

They need your help finding those responsible for the deadly shooting.
