UK artist and muralist, Patrick Vale, collaborated with La Salle Academy to bring this project to life.
There, students created their own portraits following a prompt: "This is My Philly."
"I think they're excited to share a little piece of their heart and their creativity with other people and for people to see that. See what they're excited about..." said Director of Development & Advancement at La Salle Academy, Megan Thompson.
"La Salle Academy is an independent Catholic school owned by our Board of Trustees. We are for a very specific group of students and families who are from some of the most underserved areas of Philadelphia," she continued.
Vale spent multiple months on the project, which can now be seen underneath the Lit Brothers building.
"I just hope that they are proud of themselves and that they are filled with confidence. These young artists are the future of the city. They're going to go on to brilliant things and hopefully this is just a step in that direction," said Vale.
