At least 1 seriously injured after rafting incident on Lehigh River

EAST PENN TWP., Pa. (WPVI) -- At least one person was seriously injured after a rafting incident along the Lehigh River in Carbon County, Pennsylvania.

Police told Action News that a raft overturned around 5 p.m. Wednesday, leaving several people stranded in the water in East Penn Township.

Officials said at least one individual suffered serious injuries.



Emergency crews gathered near the Bowmanstown boat ramp off Bowman Road, close to the Route 895 bridge, as rescue efforts were underway.



Authorities have not released additional details about the victims or what led to the incident.
