ALLENTOWN, Pa. (WPVI) -- The Lehigh County District Attorney's Office released an update Wednesday on a police-involved shooting in Allentown.
District Attorney Gavin Holihan says an officer was justified when he shot and injured a 29-year-old woman at the former Good Shepherd Rehabilitation Hospital on January 11.
Investigators say the woman appeared to be in distress and went after first responders with a knife.
The officer shot her once after she refused 16 of his verbal commands to drop the weapon.
The woman survived her injuries.
