Right now, Live Nation is looking for Philadelphia's up and coming stars for a new battle of the bands-style competition called Local Noise Philadelphia.
"Philadelphia's always had a really robust music scene," says Live Nation's Molly Warren. "So it's the perfect fit for an idea like this. We think it's a great opportunity for fans to discover new local acts, and local acts to connect with fans. We're a competitive town, so it felt like a good fit."
Attendance to the semifinals and finals at Brooklyn Bowl is free.
"And the fans will actually be able to participate in the judging and help pick a winner," says Warren.
Eight bands will battle it out in the semifinals and four winners will go head-to-head in the finals on August 20.
"The winner not only gets a $5,000 cash prize, but also they will get the opportunity to perform at Freedom Mortgage Pavilion during a major concert this summer," says Warren.
The deadline to apply is July 24.
