Then, they carefully unloaded at Philadelphia International Airport ready to meet Mickey Mouse.
But it won't be an easy trip.
Each of the children, ages 3 to 9, relies on some kind of technology to survive: a ventilator, feeding tube, or dialysis. Five of the kids are wheelchair bound.

But the staff, having done two of these trips before, were determined to make this weeklong trip a reality, raising $100,000.
"There are 10 children leaving and 35 staff members, five of which are already ahead of us setting up the rooms, and this is all because of our annual fundraiser," Annette Moore of Exceptional Care for Children said.
This is the third Disney trip for Exceptional Care for Children after successful visits in 2011 and 2013.
While many people donated money to make this trip happen, others gave their time including members of law enforcement who accompanied the buses to the airport...
"Since we can't officially fund them, I thought a police escort would be appropriate for these kids," Santo Montecalvo of the Citizens Crime Commission said.
