PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- City Commissioners and election leaders marked the opening of official mail ballot drop boxes citywide.
The event took place at the 40th and Market Street Satellite Election Office in West Philadelphia.
Election leaders explained how the process works from start to finish, including how the ballots are received, secured, and prepared for counting.
Officials say the drop boxes provide voters with an easy and secure way to cast their ballots ahead of the May 19th Primary Election.
The deadline to apply for a mail in ballot is May 12th.
