Officers were called to the 4000 block of Hellerman Street around 11:30 p.m. Saturday.
When they arrived, they say they found the man heavily intoxicated, and several shots had been fired.
As they were arresting him, he collapsed.
Crews immediately performed CPR and rushed him to the hospital, where he later died.
The medical examiner is now working to determine a cause of death.
