The crash happened around 10 p.m. on Thursday in the eastbound lanes near Pastore Orchards in the Hammonton section.
According to police, 44-year-old Jose Reyes, of Hammonton, was crossing from the westbound side to the eastbound side when he was hit by an eastbound car.
Police say the driver of the striking vehicle remained at the scene and is cooperating with the investigation.
The incident is being investigated by the Winslow Township Police Department Highway Safety Unit in conjunction with the Camden County Crash Investigation Team.
