E-scooter rider killed after allegedly running red light in Philadelphia's Frankford section

PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- A man is dead after a crash while riding an e-scooter in Philadelphia's Frankford section.

It happened at Aramingo Avenue and Margaret Street at 10 p.m. on Thursday.

The force from the collision knocked the victim out of his sneakers.

Police found the 37-year-old man lying on the ground and medics pronounced him dead at the scene.

Witnesses say the scooter rider ran a red light and collided with a Dodge Charger that had a green light.



The 22-year-old driving the car remained at the scene and is cooperating with investigators.
