It happened just after midnight, along the 4800 block of Broad Street.
Investigators say the 40-year-old victim was shot in the leg, and taken to the hospital by another person.
He's said to be in stable condition.
Officers later arrested a suspect after going back to the scene.
They say an intoxicated man, who fit the description given by the victim, approached them.
He's now being held for questioning.
