Man shot outside corner store in West Philadelphia

PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- A man in his 20s was shot outside of a corner store in West Philadelphia early Tuesday morning.

It happened at 2 a.m. on the 6100 block of Vine Street.

Police say the 26-year-old man had just left the corner store when a male suspect approached him.

The victim allegedly pulled out a gun before he was shot once in the stomach by the suspect.

It's unclear if the victim fired back. Officers recovered his gun at the scene.



The victim was taken to the hospital in extremely critical condition.

The suspect then fled the scene in a burgundy-colored minivan.

No arrests have been made. The shooting remains under investigation.
