The Philadelphia 76ers announced Wednesday that longtime PA announcer Matt Cord is returning behind the mic for one final season, following a very brief retirement.
"I'm incredibly grateful for the opportunity to return to the mic as PA announcer for the 76ers for one more season," said Cord. "This is going to be a special year, and I can't wait to be back at Xfinity Mobile Arena with you all. Let's go, 76ers!"
This will be his 29th season as the PA announcer for the 76ers. He retired at the end of last season.
The team also announced that Cord will be helping them to find the next PA announcer for the Sixers through a tryout process this winter.
