Authorities identified the victims as 30-year-old Geraldina Peguero-Mancebo and her 1-year-old son, Jeyden Junior Peguero.
Peguero-Mancebo's body was discovered Friday night in a grassy field near East Huller Lane in Ontelaunee Township. Her son's body was found in a nearby marshy area the following day.
Both were the subject of a missing persons alert issued by the Pennsylvania State Police earlier in the week.
Investigators have ruled both deaths a homicide, though further details have not been released.
The Berks County District Attorney's Office has scheduled a news conference for Sept. 29 to provide updates on the case.
