DELAWARE COUNTY, Pa. (WPVI) -- Calling for help in an emergency is expected to become more in secure Delaware County.

Officials say a year long effort to upgrade the county's 911 and telecommunications system is now complete.

A ribbon cutting ceremony was held for the improvements Friday in Media.

County council first voted to revamp the aging system back in 2020.

The changes are expected to give first responders faster and more stable radio connections in the field.

They will also be able to better communicate with surrounding counties and state agencies
