ROYERSFORD, Pa. (WPVI) -- He is considered a hero in Montgomery County. On Wednesday, John Curcio proved grit has no limits.
Curcio kicked off his annual fundraiser at the Spring Valley YMCA in Royersford. He operated an arm bike for 8 hours straight.
The event, titled "John's Ride for All," raises funds for the YMCA.
Curcio found a supportive community at the YMCA after he was injured in a roofing accident. He was left partially paralyzed, and had to use a wheel chair.
Curcio said this is his way of giving back to the community that saved him. Money raised is used to support ADA-inclusive programs including Special Olympics, Dragonfly Summer Camp, Shooting Stars Basketball, Heavy Lifting and other inclusive opportunities.
