More than 200 evacuated after air conditioning failure at NJ facility

VOORHEES, N.J. (WPVI) -- More than 200 patients were evacuated from a South Jersey rehabilitation facility Saturday morning after an air conditioning failure during a period of extreme heat.

Police and emergency responders assisted in evacuating 214 patients from Echelon Care and Rehabilitation Center in Voorhees.

Officials said the patients were temporarily relocated to Eastern Regional High School, where they continued receiving medical care.

There have been no reported injuries or heat-related illnesses, according to police.

The incident remains under investigation.
