PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- A Philadelphia neighborhood is making sure a mother mallard and her ducklings are safe.
The mother is nesting on a small grass patch in Northern Liberties.
Action News found the mama duck, which neighbors named Dahlia, with as many as eight eggs in the nest. It's located on the 300 block of Callowhill Street, right next to the DeVita Dialysis Center.
Neighbors are making sure it stays safe by keeping and eye on the duck and her nest. They also put out a water dish for her and have signs that read "watch your step" posted so pedestrians make sure they don't step on the eggs.
