Danielle Lopez disappeared in April 2024 while camping with her boyfriend in the Brendan T. Byrne State Forest, which spans Burlington and Ocean counties. Her mother, Sue Quackenbush, says the past 18 months have been agonizing.
"We spoke Friday night before she disappeared," Quackenbush said. "I asked her how she was doing because they were camping. Was she cold? She said 'no'... they were comfortable."
Lopez was last seen April 12, 2024, leaving a Wawa on Route 72 in Vincentown after buying coffee.
Later that day, a couple spotted her walking alone along Lost Lane in Woodland Township, about 12 miles from the campground.
Having lost two other children, her mother says the last year and a half has been torture.
"No new information has come forward, and I know there's people that know," Quackenbush said. "Answers will turn this terror into grief."
Police have interviewed Lopez's boyfriend, who told investigators he last saw her the morning of April 13. He is currently in state prison on unrelated charges.
Anyone with information about Lopez's disappearance is asked to contact the New Jersey State Police.
