First, Brown was introduced during a press conference Thursday afternoon. He decided to hold it at the Francis Myers Recreation Center on Kingsessing Avenue, where he spoke about the importance of community and paying it forward.
"We look forward to being able to impact others and being able to touch families and households that we may never get to see," Brown explained. "The first impression is everything. I just wanted to let people know in Philadelphia that this is something that's important to me."

Brown said he has experienced a wave of emotions as he's processed leaving Boston, where he played for 10 seasons, and moving to Philadelphia. He said his focus is on winning and embracing everything the city has to offer.
"As someone who has competed against Philadelphia for a large amount of time, one thing I can say is the fan base here is incredible. They really get behind you guys," Brown said.
Brown said he and his new teammates are already bonding in a very active group chat.
"I'm excited to just be myself," he said. "I think that's one thing I can promise this city and organization, and coaching staff. I will come in every single day, be myself, put my best foot forward, and lead with my integrity."
After the press conference, Brown threw out the first pitch ahead of Thursday night's Phillies game in South Philadelphia.
John Salerno, of Delanco, New Jersey, wore a 76ers shirt to the Phillies game. He told Action News, "I love Jaylen Brown. He's brought energy to this city. It's amazing."
Allure King, of Philadelphia's Logan neighborhood, was also decked out in his Sixers gear.
Speaking about Brown, King said, "We get him. The city is going crazy. Then we get LeBron. The city went bananas. It's going to be a great year."
