Picture this: It's a beautiful day for a shiny, very Yellow Corvette - all 455 horses purring.
So you are motoring along and thinking about stopping at that valet parking, then you think about that movie "Ferris Bueller's Day Off" where a couple of knuckleheads valets take a rare sports car for a joyride to end all joyrides.
Which brings us to the folks at Kerbeck, where met Rich Pepe who showed us the latest new thing.
Officially it's the Valet Mode of the Performance Data Recorder option. Some just call it the "Ferris Bueller Button".
It uses an existing system that records driving. In the Valet Mode it locks up glove box, shuts off the radio and records every movement outside and what's said inside.
It's easy to set up, and playback.
The thinking is that valets who have a need for speed will be discouraged.
In Pennsylvania recording audio without consent is illegal. Apparently the audio recording system can be disabled while the video is still recorded. Pepe's advice is that valets should be told in any state.
This is the latest in a long list of new electronics in cars - from radar crash avoidance systems, blind spot indicators, to black boxes that insurance companies use to monitor young drivers who want discount rates.
But for now the Ferris Bueller Button is only available on 2015 Corvette, which comes with a price tag of about $57,000.
