New law requires Department of Transportation to report pothole repairs in New Jersey

Thursday, August 7, 2025
If you've ever hit a pothole in New Jersey and wondered when it will be fixed, help is on the way.

A new bipartisan law was signed on Monday that requires the Department of Transportation to count every pothole it repairs on state highways and share the data with drivers.

The report will include how many potholes were fixed, how much it cost and how quickly crews responded.

Supporters say the law increases transparency and will help improve safety on New Jersey's roads.
