The new cameras have recently been installed along Route 13, expanding the program from Strawberry Mansion to Brewerytown, West Philadelphia and University City.
Residents in West Philadelphia said they believe the cameras could improve safety in their neighborhoods.

"They were putting up the sign. I said, 'It'd be better if it was photo-enforced.' They said, 'It's going to be now,'" said Alex Bolanos of West Philadelphia.
Others expressed support for the new enforcement measures, citing concerns about speeding in residential areas.
"In this neighborhood, we have a lot of children. The people speeding here should not be speeding; hopefully this will help," said Natalya Vinokuroba of West Philadelphia.
According to the Philadelphia Parking Authority, speed enforcement cameras reduce accidents and save lives. The authority said the cameras have dramatically reduced speeding along Roosevelt Boulevard by 95%.
"I think it'll help, just like it helped on the boulevard. That used to be a nightmare," Vinokuroba said.
Roosevelt Boulevard was the first corridor to receive speed enforcement cameras, followed by Broad Street. Route 13 is the latest corridor to receive the technology.
The 10 new cameras are installed from the 3400 block of Ridge Avenue to 60th Street and Baltimore Avenue. Drivers traveling 11 miles per hour over the speed limit will receive a $100 ticket.
"I teach my children when they are crossing the street they should look right, look left. It doesn't matter if it's one way. My 8-year-old says you should also look up," she said.
Officials said a warning period is tentatively scheduled to begin in mid to late August.
The warning period will last 60 days before enforcement begins.
