New legislation could allow New Jersey schools to unify spring break dates across the state

TRENTON, N.J. (WPVI) -- New Jersey school students may soon have a unified spring break time.

Governor Mikie Sherrill signed legislation last week that requires the Commissioner of Education to recommend dates for spring break in the districts.

This would mean all school districts would hold a spring break at the same time.

Under the current system, every school district makes up its own calendar for the year.
