The transit agency has released its June 13 matchday schedules and is encouraging fans to plan their trips ahead of time.
NJ Transit President and CEO Kris Kolluri said 8,000 train tickets have been sold so far for the match. Another 4,000 host committee, MetLife Stadium and American Dream employees are expected to use dedicated rail service, bringing the total number of reserved rail seats to 12,000 out of 40,000 available.
Officials expect ticket sales to increase significantly before kickoff.

Kolluri said about 75% of rail tickets sold for Super Bowl XLVIII at MetLife Stadium in 2014 were purchased either the day before or the day of the event. He also noted FIFA recently released 108,000 tickets to resellers nationwide, which could lead to more fans making last-minute travel plans.
To prepare, NJ Transit says about 1,600 conductors and 400 engineers will be working or on standby Saturday. Hundreds of customer ambassadors will also be stationed throughout the system, including at New York Penn Station, to help travelers.
NJ Transit is also preparing backup transportation options. The agency says 520 buses will be on standby at New York Penn Station and Secaucus Junction in case of rail delays.

Demand is also growing for other transportation options. Officials say 9,000 of the 18,000 available seats on host committee buses departing from New York have already been reserved. In addition, 2,700 of the 4,700 parking spaces available at American Dream have been sold.
The match will serve as one of the first major tests of the transportation plans that will be used throughout the FIFA World Cup at MetLife Stadium this summer.
Fans planning to attend Saturday's game are encouraged to review NJ Transit's special event schedules and purchase transportation tickets in advance.
