"It's wonderful. It really, really gets you in the holiday spirit," said Caitlin Sylvain of Fairmount.
Dozens sat with smiles as Opera Philadelphia performed on stage for the "Home for the Holidays" concert.
"It's so hard in the times we live in to just find ways to connect, to be together, to feel like we're together, and that's what I think art and music can do," said Anthony Roth Costanzo, who is the opera's general director and president.

"This is my first Christmas performance of the season. It just kind of gets me in the spirit, and I loved having the family here," said Madison Day, who is a violinist.
"It was really mesmerizing and just really interesting, and I really liked it," said Day's daughter.
"Just the intricacies of the organ - it's so cool to see it in action. I just love these events a lot," said Brianna Thompson.
The audience also watched special dances and a dazzling holiday display.
"I think the dinosaurs were my favorite," said Sylvain about the dancers dressed as dinosaurs.
"I wanted to go up there and do it with them. We were all dancing here," said Chris Hunt of Center City.
For the grand finale, the room lit up during the historic Wanamaker Light Show.
"The show was outstanding. We enjoyed every bit of it," said Bob Davis of Fairmount. "The singers, the dancers, the lights - it was just great being here."
