The nonprofit Gaaays in Space hosted the planned 2025 Galactic Diversity and Inclusion Convention, which was set for last May at the Pennsylvania Convention Center.
Fans contacted the Troubleshooters team after the event was called off and refunds failed to materialize.
Founder Dan Deevy said new partners helped the organization repay everyone who sought reimbursement.
"It has been a surprisingly great last few months. We, thanks to some new partners that we found that came on board, we have now been able to fully pay back. We finished all the refunds for all of the ticket holders," he said.
Deevy said the process took a year, but "every dime" has now been returned.
He added that while about a third of refunds were issued immediately, others took longer to resolve.
Nicole Forst of Pottstown, Pennsylvania, said she was surprised to see Deevy reappear online with news of completed refunds.
"I was kind of very surprised when I saw his face pop up on Instagram again, and he's like, we're back. We've issued refunds," she said.
Forst had been owed $514 when the Troubleshooters first reported on the issue.
Forst and fellow attendee Bridget Delaney were among those who reached out after Deevy canceled the convention, citing slow ticket sales and withdrawn sponsorships.
Delaney said she hopes the organization succeeds moving forward.
"I always want to see things that help my community thrive. So I do wish him well," she said.
Deevy said the experience tested the trust he had built with fans.
"All the trust we built over those years, it's been proven that even when we hit a snag, when we stumble, if I give my word, I follow through," he said.
He is now planning another convention for 2027 and is in talks with new sponsors, hoping to regain the confidence of longtime supporters.
