Roadway back open after overturned dump truck spills rocks on Rt. 42 in Bellmawr, New Jersey

BELLMAWR, New Jersey (WPVI) -- Route 42 is back open in Bellmawr after an overturned dump truck shut down the southbound lanes for several hours early Monday morning.

The crash happened around 1 a.m. in the southbound lanes of Rt. 42, near I-295, spiilling stones across the roadway.

Police say the driver lost control, causing the truck to turn on its side. The driver had to be extracted after being trapped inside the overturned truck. There has been no word on the driver's condition.

It took several hours for the debris to be cleared from the roadway.
