UNIVERSITY CITY (WPVI) -- The Penn Museum's completely reimagined Native North America gallery brings together ancient artifacts and contemporary works across four geographic regions, starting with the Lenni Lenape, who lived and thrived here in our region.

The exhibit centers Native voices and lived histories. The museum partnered with members of the native communities, who served as cultural curators, helping to tell their own stories.

Each section traces moments of rupture following European contact, alongside stories of resilience and survival.

From ceremonial objects to interactive displays and Native languages featured first, the gallery emphasizes that these communities are still here and have been since before the nation was born.
