The Bowers family was searching for shells in Sea Isle City when they made the discovery.
The father says he noticed something odd stuck inside a rock on the coastline. That's when he called his son over to help pull it out.
The Cape May Whale Watch and Reserve Center has since confirmed the discovery.
The family says they intend to keep the tooth and keep telling the awesome story that comes with it.
