Gov. Josh Shapiro is one of several finalists said to be under consideration.
"Anything on the veepstakes yet?" a reporter asked Shapiro as he entered the state capitol in Harrisburg on Monday.
"I got nothing for you, man," Shapiro replied.
He is reportedly one of several candidates under active consideration who met with Vice President Harris in Washington this weekend.
ABC News has learned there is now a short list of contenders that includes Shapiro, Arizona Sen. Mark Kelly and Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz.
Sources say the vetting process to be the Democratic vice presidential candidate is over and the choice is now up to Harris.

Harris and running mate to campaign at Temple University
The person she eventually chooses to be her running mate will appear with Harris at a campaign event Tuesday at the Liacouras Center on the campus of Temple University.
Preparations there are well underway.
"We always plan for the largest crowds then we see what comes," said the Chief and VP of Temple University Public Safety Jennifer Griffin. "It will be all hands on deck here like three weeks ago when we had former President Trump here."
At least 10,000 people are expected to show up for the event.
Sharif Street, the state's Democratic Party chair, has been fielding the questions of who Harris will pick since President Joe Biden announced he was no longer running.
"She's going to make the right decision for the country, she's going to get folks energized, she's going to pick a great vice president," Street said. "I'm totally with her no matter who she picks."
The event at Temple will kick off a campaign swing through seven battleground states in five days to "introduce the new Democratic ticket."
Trump running mate JD Vance to also visit Philadelphia
Meanwhile, Republican vice presidential nominee JD Vance will also be in Philadelphia on Tuesday.
He'll appear in South Philadelphia for a press conference at noon.
Vance is expected to address what he calls the Harris-Biden administration's "woke and dangerously liberal policies."
Vance will then travel to Michigan for a similar event on Wednesday. That's the same day that Harris and her running mate will be in the state.
Former President Donald Trump's only event this week is a rally in Montana on Friday.
