Trooper Joseph Perechinsky was left fighting for his life after a gunman opened fire in Susquehanna County last week.

Fellow troopers lined the walkway as he was released from the hospital in Scranton on Tuesday.
When Perechinsky arrived back to his hometown of Mayfield, the mayor presented him with a key to the borough.
A second trooper was also shot during that incident and has made a full recovery.
