People in need are served 'Face to Face' at Germantown organization

PHILADELPHIA, Pennsylvania (WPVI) -- When it comes to serving people in need, these volunteers handle it "Face to Face."

In their space, people can come into shelter for a moment of respite.

"Our mission is simple: Reduce suffering and empower lives. For a lot of people who have been in intergenerational poverty, they come here to get rest. They see an attorney, a social worker, a behavioral health specialist, and then they move on," said Executive Director, Mary Kay Meeks-Hank.

"Whether you are eating a warm, delicious, nutritious meal or involved in one of our programs, it's not so much what you're doing or what's happening in that interaction. It's the way," she continued.
