Philadelphia City Council to discuss driverless cars

Updated 1 hour ago
PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- Philadelphia City Council Member Jim Harrity, rideshare drivers and others are demanding answers before Philadelphia expands autonomous vehicle technology.

The group will discuss real-world consequences of using the driverless vehicles, including their threat to workers' job stability on Tuesday morning.

They want public safety questions answered and community accountability before operations expand in the city.

Their press conference is scheduled for 9:15 a.m. Tuesday, before the scheduled 10 a.m council hearing.
