PHILADELPHIA, Pennsylvania (WPVI) -- The Philadelphia Distance Run took place today, with runners getting their steps in for local youth.
The event benefitted "Students Run Philly Style," a nonprofit that places teens with volunteer mentors who help them achieve their athletic goals.
"Along the way they learn about non-running things such as setting a goal, working towards it, building community and supporting one another...If you can run a race like this, you can do anything that's in front of you," said Executive Director, Lauren Kobylarz.
