MAYS LANDING, N.J. (WPVI) -- A Philadelphia man has pleaded guilty to his role in a 2024 drive-by shooting in Atlantic City, New Jersey.

Carlos Medina-Morales, 24, entered the plea to second-degree aggravated assault on Tuesday.

The shooting happened back in July, 2024 on the corner of Florida and Atlantic avenues.

According to officials, Medina-Morales got into a verbal altercation after being denied entry at Cinco de Mayo Bar Restaurant.

Investigators say Medina-Morales then returned to his vehicle with several other individuals.

As the vehicle passed by the establishment, he fired shots outside of the window before fleeing the scene.

An innocent bystander was shot in the abdomen, but has since recovered.

Sentencing is scheduled for August 10.
