The incident occurred around 4:45 p.m. Friday on Frankford Avenue near Worrell Street in the city's Frankford section.
Police told Action News the altercation involved two males. One of them got off the Route 3 bus, turned around and opened fire. A second individual also exited the bus and returned fire, according to surveillance video reviewed by investigators.
Fortunately, no one was hit by gunfire and no injuries were reported.
In a Saturday morning update, SEPTA told Action News that they identified the suspect who fled the scene as a 14-year-old male. He was taken into custody near Frankford Ave and Sellers Street.
Additionally, the other suspected gunman was identified as an 18-year-old male. He was also taken into custody shortly after the shooting.
So far, no charges have been released.
