Philadelphia police investigating double shooting after argument

PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- Two women were shot after an argument in Philadelphia.

Police responded to Temple University Hospital ER after two gunshot victims came in early Saturday morning.

Officials say preliminary findings indicate that a 23-year-old woman and a 27-year-old woman had left a bar around 2:30 a.m. and were on their way to drop the older woman off at home.

Roughly 15 minutes into their drive, police say a dark-colored sedan pulled up alongside the passenger's side of their vehicle.

Following a brief verbal argument between the 23-year-old woman and an occupant in the sedan, police say someone inside the dark vehicle opened fire.

The suspect vehicle immediately fled the scene.

That's when the driver realized that the 27-year-old woman was unresponsive and bleeding.

The driver then rushed to Temple ER.

The 23-year-old woman is in stable condition with a gunshot wound to her left shoulder.

The 27-year-old woman is in critical condition with a gunshot wound to her left eye.

The motive is currently unknown, no arrests have been made, and the Shooting Investigation Group is leading the ongoing investigation.
