PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- Philadelphia's Mutter Museum announced a new approach to collecting and displaying human remains.
Approximately 6,500 human remains are housed within the Center City museum. Many of the more unique specimens are on display, but critics have raised questions of consent.
Museum officials said, going forward, the college will limit its acquisition of human remains and consider only those offered by living primary donors.
In addition, the museum will limit the use of its digital collection to make sure it's being used for educational purposes.
