Among them was officer Jake Hennessy, who is still recovering from injuries sustained during the incident last fall.
"For our officers' well-being, they need to know we support them no matter what," Plymouth Township Police Chief John Myrsiades said.

Hennessy was the most seriously injured of the three officers hurt in October after a violent encounter with Janiczek. Video of the incident, now part of the investigation, shows Hennessy being assaulted.
"Our people, specifically Officer Hennessy, were looking for this individual who was wanted by police," Myrsiades said.
According to investigators, Janiczek was spotted driving a Mercedes G-Wagon erratically in Plymouth Township. Officers attempted to pull him over, but he allegedly fled. Hennessy later located the vehicle in the parking lot of a DoubleTree Hotel and reported it.

"He realized the person was in the vehicle and that he basically tried to escape by ramming our officer's car," Myrsiades said.
Video shows the Mercedes ramming into a police cruiser. Hennessy exited his vehicle and demanded that the suspect stop. Instead, police say, the driver accelerated directly toward him. Hennessy opened fire and was then run over multiple times.
Janiczek was arrested a short time later after ramming two additional police vehicles and injuring two more officers.
"It was one of the worst things that I've seen, and the fact that this is one of your own," Myrsiades said.

After the court appearance, Janiczek was escorted out the same way he entered, again walking past the assembled officers.
"We're here so everybody knows our officers included, we're still a family," police said.
The chief said there is still a long road ahead in terms of recovery, but Hennessy eventually plans to return to work.
A formal arraignment is scheduled for May 27.
