There was no immediate word on whether anyone was taken into custody or if anyone was injured.
Police say there is no danger to the community.
Pennsauken police were referring all questions to the prosecutor's office.
The shooting was reported around 9:15 a.m. in the 4400 block of Bethel Avenue.
Video from Chopper 6 showed a heavy police and SWAT presence a short time later.
A drone, as well as a robotic police dog, were also being used at the scene.
