Police: Woman held against her will in Upper Merion

UPPER MERION TWP., Pa. (WPVI) -- A man in Montgomery County was arrested after police say he held a woman against her will in Upper Merion Township.

It all unfolded around 7:00 a.m. Saturday when police found a distraught woman.

The victim told police she was attacked by a friend at a home on the 300 block of South Warner Road but that she managed to escape.

Officers went to the home and found the suspect identified as Shane Gallagher. He was taken into custody.

Police say they also found several bullet holes and broken windows around the home.



The woman was not physically harmed.

Gallagher is facing charges for simple assault, unlawful restraint and reckless endangerment.
