PSPCA caring for litter of abandoned husky puppies

PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- The Pennsylvania SPCA is caring for a litter of abandoned husky puppies, including one found critically injured in a trash can.

A good Samaritan discovered the young puppy sometime this week and rushed her to ACCT Philly for treatment.

ACCT later contacted the Pennsylvania SPCA for assistance, and the puppy was transported to an animal hospital for emergency care.

The pup, now named "Miracle," is only a few weeks old.

"She had sustained severe head trauma. Blood dripped from her nose. No one knows how long she has been injured, crying out for help," the PSPCA said in a statement.

After receiving urgent treatment, Miracle was stabilized and transferred back to the shelter's hospital, where she is now receiving around-the-clock care.

During the investigation, authorities located her littermates, who are also undergoing medical treatment.

Once the puppies are deemed healthy, they will be placed in foster homes until they are old enough to be adopted.
