WILMINGTON, Del. (WPVI) -- Students in Wilmington, Delaware are taking steps towards the switch to renewable energy.
The Freire Charter School held a unique energy lab competition on Thursday.
The High School students were asked to design and build a structure, using just wind and solar energy to power it.
Professional engineers and physicians were on hand to assist and answer questions.
The event gave an opportunity to commemorate Black History Month and showcase how real world STEM education is being applied.
