PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- A man has died after his car plunged into a creek while he was driving in the Chestnut Hill neighborhood of Philadelphia.

The crash occurred around 4 p.m. Sunday on Cresheim Valley Drive near Lincoln Drive.

Police say Henry Ngo, 65, was driving a 2006 silver BMW when he lost control and struck a downed guard rail.

The vehicle flipped upside down and fell into Cresheim Creek.

Crews rescued Ngo from inside the vehicle and took him to Einstein hospital in extremely critical condition, but he died a few hours later.

A heavy-duty tow truck pulled the wreckage from the water.
