Sanitation worker hurt after being run over by trash truck in Pike Creek, Delaware

A sanitation worker was seriously hurt when he was run over by the trash truck while on the job Monday.

PIKE CREEK, Del. (WPVI) -- A sanitation worker in New Castle County was seriously hurt when he was run over by the trash truck while on the job on Monday.

It happened around 10 a.m. in the 5800 block of Pepper Ridge Court in Pike Creek, Delaware.

State Police rushed the man to Christiana Hospital with serious injuries to his legs.

His identity has not been released.

The accident remains under investigation.
