RADNOR TWP., Pa. (WPVI) -- Volunteers have spent months sorting and shelving more than 20-thousand books, LP's, DVD's, magazines, games, puzzles and more to get ready for this weekend's giant sale benefiting the Radnor Library.

Ellen Bell, President of the Friends of the Radnor Library, explains, "All of this money goes to the Radnor Library, which is a wonderful, wonderful organization the benefits for the community here."

Popular fiction, including hardbacks like "Gone Girl" and J.K. Rowlings's "Casual Vacancy," will be selling for $1.00-$2.00. Cookbooks from popular chefs like Emeril Lagasse and Rachel Ray are priced at $.75 and $1.00. And there's an entire room full of children's books, just about all priced under $2.00 as well.

And if you're looking for a great Father's Day gift for a sport-lover, there are shelves full of books about just about every sport that's ever been played.

Then there are what the sale volunteers call "Treasures," including a 1901 edition of "Crankisms" signed by the illustrator, a signed copy of Anna Freud's writings, or a leather-bound book of James Thomson's poetry from 1793.

Bell explains the bargain-pricing on the "Treasures." "What we do is we go on sites like eBay and figure out what the cost is and then, we only charge one-third of that cost for some very special, unique books. Some very old books, some signed books."

In addition to picking up recent paperbacks for beach reading, sharp shoppers can also find bargain bits of history, like vintage magazines and rare recordings.

The sale opens to the public on Saturday, May 31, 2014, at 9:00. But Friends of the Radnor Library can shop the Preview Sale, starting at 5:00 p.m. on Friday, May 30, 2014. Anyone can join the Friends on-site Friday and shop the preview sale, too. Sunday is a half-price day.
