PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- A man was gunned down nearly four years ago in the middle of the afternoon on the streets of Philadelphia.

The search continues for the gunman.

"He didn't get murdered just any where, he got murdered on the block he grew up on. A couple doors from my mom's house."

The murder of Kelvin Gary still haunts his family.

The 33-year-old was shot multiple times on the 3600 block of North 15th Street in North Philadelphia on July 25th, 2022 just before 1 p.m.

His nephew was with him at the time and was also shot but survived his wounds.

His family says he was not in a position to protect himself from danger.

"I know it was senseless. My brother couldn't even defend himself if he wanted to," says Kelvin Gary's sister.

The family tells Action News that Kelvin had an accident that morning.

He had only left the emergency room two hours before his killing and had his arm in a sling.

"He didn't deserve that. He didn't deserve it. It's just so unfair," says Gary's sister.

The City of Philadelphia is offering a $20,000 reward for information that leads to an arrest and conviction.

The number to call with information is 215-546-TIPS.

All calls will remain anonymous.
